What is Facial Liposuction?
Facial Liposuction removes excess fatty tissue on the face and neck. The procedure significantly reduces the appearance of facial fat caused by an overweight appearance, a small chin or round cheeks.
How does Facial Liposuction work?
Dr. Diaz makes an incision in the jaw, chin or bottom of the lower lip, and behind the ear lobes. A tube attached to a vacuum is then inserted into the incisions, and the tip is moved back and forth to loosen and remove the fat cells.
What can I expect after treatment?
Swelling and bruising are expected after the procedure. Bruising lasts no more than two weeks, but swelling may take longer to subside. A dressing should be worn for a few days after the procedure and at night for several weeks.
How soon will results appear?
The final results appear after any swelling or bruising subsides.
How long does the procedure last?
Facial Liposuctions takes 30 minutes to an hour to perform.
What conditions respond best to the procedure?
Patients within their normal weight range who have excess fatty tissue on the neck or face respond best to Facial Liposuction.
Who are candidates for Facial Liposuction?
Candidates for Facial Liposuction are men and women with localized fatty deposits on the face or neck, who are in good health and have good skin elasticity.
How does the procedure feel?
Anesthesia is given, and pain is minimal during the procedure. Patients may feel pressure, movement or vibrations.
What are the alternative procedures?
Diet and exercise are alternatives for patients with excess fat on their face; however, for most patients, diet and exercise are not effective at getting rid of facial fat. Surgical procedures, such as a facelift, necklift and/or the direct modification of fat deposits may be necessary.
Are additional procedures necessary?
One procedure should be enough to produce long lasting results.
